Office & Dispatch Assistant
Team LogisticsJob Overview We're a small trucking and freight company in Overland Park. Our drivers haul for long-standing customers, and our office runs on a handful of people who all know each other's jobs. We're looking for one more person to join that office team. This is a hands-on role. You'll help keep our trucks moving, our customers informed, and our invoices paid. If you like a mix of phone work, computer work and problem-solving — and want a schedule that's done by 1:00 — we'd like to hear from you. What you'll do Build loads in our transportation software and send drivers their dispatches Stay in touch with drivers by phone and text through the day Learn our billing process and serve as backup on invoicing Make friendly, persistent collections calls on past-due invoices Help search load boards for freight and backhauls Answer customer calls and emails about pickups, deliveries and paperwork What we're looking for Comfortable on a computer — email, spreadsheets, and learning new software quickly Good with numbers and careful with details At ease on the phone, including calls that need a firm but polite touch Reliable and organized, able to juggle several things at once Experience in trucking, freight brokerage, dispatch, billing, accounts receivable or customer service A plus, but we'll train the right person Dispatch or TMS software (we use Tailwinds) QuickBooks or other accounting software Load boards such as DAT or Truckstop Familiarity with bills of lading, rate confirmations and proof of delivery Schedule Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–1:00 PM (about 25 hours a week) Some flexibility for the right candidate Room to grow into a full-time role as we add trucks To apply: Please send your resume, and a few sentences on why this role fits you.
