We are looking for our next Junior Ocean Import Agent to join our International Transport team at our Québec office! You will enjoy many benefits, including: Working from home 2 days per week Group insurance benefits RRSP with employer contributions Employee Assistance Program 7 personal days in addition to annual vacation Training paid for by Axxess Your main responsibilities will include: Create client files as soon as goods depart from the port of origin and manage transportation documents and other relevant communications electronically, including pre-alerts, House Bills of Lading (HBL), Master Bills of Lading (MBL), commercial documents where applicable, and arrival notices Prepare and submit electronic manifests (eManifest) accurately, in accordance with applicable regulations and standards and within prescribed deadlines to ensure compliance Track and trace shipments while goods are in transit, based on the applicable Incoterm Keep internal and external clients informed of shipment progress and any delays that may occur When required, coordinate necessary adjustments with carriers involved in the logistics chain through to the final delivery of the goods or the completion of the assigned transportation process, based on the applicable Incoterm Receive and verify invoices from agents, ocean carriers, and suppliers, and request invoice revisions when corrections are required Submit approved invoices to the Finance Department for processing Provide the relevant documents to the applicable customs brokers in a timely manner to allow for customs clearance of the goods Prepare final billing and send it to the client along with the relevant documentation, including HBLs and applicable commercial documents Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly and effectively to inquiries regarding the files under your responsibility Work collaboratively with clients, carriers, customs brokers, agents, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure shipments are handled efficiently Complete the required follow-ups and contribute to resolving issues that may arise throughout the import process Perform any other related duties requested by the supervisor What we are looking for: Excellent organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple files and deadlines at the same time Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing documentation and files Ability to monitor shipments and communicate proactively with the various stakeholders involved Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to work effectively with clients, carriers, customs brokers, agents, and suppliers Ability to assess situations, complete the required follow-ups, and contribute to problem resolution Ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and collaborate effectively as part of a team Comfort working with electronic document management and information from multiple sources Ability to work effectively in an environment where multiple priorities must be managed simultaneously Don’t meet every requirement?
