Ocean Export Specialist

Manage ocean export shipments from Houston, with ownership of FCL and LCL files from booking and documentation through sailing, delivery coordination and file completion. The role suits an export operator who can work directly with shippers, carriers, co-loaders and overseas offices. Accurate shipping instructions, bills of lading and cutoff management are central to the work, alongside clear updates when a shipment changes. Responsibilities Coordinate FCL and LCL ocean export shipments from booking and inland pickup through sailing and destination handover. Arrange carrier and co-loader bookings, and manage documentation, cargo and terminal cutoffs. Prepare and check shipping instructions and house and master bills of lading. Coordinate Electronic Export Information (EEI) filing through the Automated Export System (AES), where required and within the forwarder's authorized scope. Track shipment milestones, resolve booking and documentation exceptions, and update customers and overseas agents. Maintain accurate job records, supplier costs, accruals and customer invoices; escalate discrepancies promptly. Your experience Ocean export operations experience with an international freight forwarder or NVOCC. Practical knowledge of FCL/LCL bookings, shipping instructions, bills of lading and export cutoffs. An understanding of Incoterms and U.S. export documentation and filing requirements. The ability to manage multiple live files, maintain accurate records and communicate with customers and service providers. Ocean Export Coordinators, Ocean Export Agents and freight forwarders with comparable export experience are relevant to this search.
