For our OnBoard CHICAGO office, we are looking for the following profile: Position: Ocean Export Coordinator Location: 205 Stanley ST, Elk Grove Village IL, 60007 SUMMARY: Responsible for planning and executing the logistical requirements necessary for the successful export of shipments, ensuring customer satisfaction and the efficient operation of all related activities. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 3 years or more of related experience or equivalent. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Manage daily Air Export operations. · Verify freight rates applied by carriers against service contracts or agreed pricing and submit freight payment requests when applicable. · Schedule cargo appointments with plants and/or customers based on product availability and coordinate services with warehouses and trucking companies. · Take ownership of customer issues and facilitate timely and effective resolution to ensure customer satisfaction. · Manage the request, review, and correction of Bills of Lading (BL) with carriers and distribute final documents to customers. · Prepare and validate House Bills of Lading (HBL) according to customer-specific requirements and templates. · Manage the release process for special shipments and/or shipments requiring HBL documentation. · Process all export documentation in accordance with carrier, customs, and customer requirements while meeting established deadlines and standards. · Understand the financial impact of operations and their effect on company revenue. · Communicate shipment status, additional charges, and operational issues to customers, sales teams, and overseas offices. · Send destination pre-alerts and ensure timely sharing of shipment documentation. · Review and monitor shipment status daily, ensuring all service and performance standards are met. · Submit weekly HBL shipment reports and matrices to ocean carriers when required. · Maintain knowledge of key performance indicators (KPIs), procedures, and operational objectives, ensuring compliance with established standards. · Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs. · Maintain daily communication with vendors, carriers, and service providers. · Communicate with customers and overseas agents to address inquiries and provide shipment updates. · Properly close shipments in CargoWise and ensure data accuracy and integrity. · Issue invoices and validate costs to ensure accurate job profitability and financial management. · Monitor agreed service levels, identify root causes when targets are not achieved, and provide recommendations to management regarding service failures and operational trends. · Perform other related duties as assigned by management. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS · Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Logistics, Maritime and Port Administration, International Business, or a related field (preferred but not required). · Hazmat Certification, IATA Certified Professional Training (CTP), and/or Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certification preferred.
