Ocean Export Coordinator | Houston, TX | Salary up to $65,000 This is an excellent opportunity for a freight forwarding professional with strong ocean export experience who enjoys managing shipments from booking through final delivery while providing a high level of customer service. Compensation & Benefits Salary up to $65,000, depending on experience Competitive benefits package Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) / retirement plan Paid time off and company holidays Opportunity to grow within an established international freight forwarding organization Key Responsibilities Coordinate ocean export shipments from booking through final delivery Prepare and process export documentation, including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, and shipping instructions Coordinate bookings with steamship lines, carriers, warehouses, truckers, and overseas offices/agents Monitor shipment schedules, cut-offs, vessel departures, and arrivals Ensure all export documentation is accurate and completed within required deadlines Communicate regularly with customers regarding shipment status, schedules, and documentation Enter and maintain shipment information accurately within the company’s operating system Resolve shipment issues, delays, and documentation discrepancies Coordinate with internal teams and overseas partners to ensure smooth end-to-end shipment execution Ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations and company procedures Assist with quotes, rates, and other operational requirements when needed Requirements 2+ years of U.S. freight forwarding experience Strong Ocean Export experience Good knowledge of international shipping procedures and export documentation Experience working with steamship lines, truckers, warehouses, and overseas agents Strong understanding of ocean freight terminology, schedules, and cut-off requirements Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong customer service and communication abilities Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment Experience with CargoWise or another freight forwarding operating system is preferred
