Job Description
• Handling all daily ocean and air import shipments from booking/ pre-alert until invoicing
• experienced with all types of transports, LCL, FCL, Flat Rack, Open Top, airfreight, OOG, Breakbulk, Project cargo, RoRo
• Providing expert advise to clients regarding logistic processes, documentation, inspections, letters of credit, or any other shipping questions which may arise;
• Booking, arranging for or confirming cargo space with carriers; Arranging pick up of cargo from port to final destination;
• Assisting/ forwarding all necessary information and documentation to Customs Broker in order to clear shipments in accordance with U.S. government regulations;
• Checking shipping documents of accuracy and compliance
• Preparing and/or sending advance notifications of shipments or other documents to agents, shippers or consignees as required;
• Issuing Arrival Notices and Delivery Orders
• Coordinating the movement of shipments between origin and destination;
• Tracking shipments and sending regular status reports to clients;
• Data input/ logging files;
• Communicating with all external and internal stackholders as well as customers to ensure smooth transport arrangement;
• Operating according to our Standard Operation Procedures;
• Support Supervisor with General Office duties
Job Qualifications
• Experience with import operations and ocean freight processes, including basic knowledge of Incoterms and international shipping practices.
• Fluent/ Mothertongue in English is required;
• Bachelor’s degree required;
• 3-5 years’ experience with ocean import and exports (required) and air imports and / or exports (preferred);
• Strong Understanding of Ocean Import and Export regulations and documentation;
• Experience in using and navigating CargoSoft software is a plus;
• Attention to detail and excellent oral and written skills required, customer service experience required;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
