Nursery Dispatcher - Level 2
Cavicchio Greenhouses, Inc.The Nursery Department Dispatcher is a multi-tasker! Part logistics manager, part map reader, part customer service team member, part liaison (and sometimes mediator!) and laser focused on the efficient, safe and timely delivery of our live goods to the customer’s location. Our dispatchers are actively involved in loading trucks: planning the placement and quantity of products on the flatbed and working closely with the drivers and the shipping department. Creating delivery routes, managing changes on the go as well as promoting safety and compliance are essential functions! ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Coordinate with the sales team to schedule delivery of goods to customers. Create and organize daily trucking routes, with an emphasis on efficiency and safety. Communicate with loader operators to confirm details of orders for delivery. Meet with Landscape Buyer to organize pick-up of materials from suppliers. Work closely with other Cavicchio locations to organize transfers between departments. Maintain records of dispatched calls, driver routes, delivery times, and other relevant information. Ensure drivers adhere to DOT regulations, including hours. Monitor driver performance to ensure efficiency and compliance. Troubleshoot issues that may arise during transportation, such as delays or route changes and find timely solutions. Strong and effective communication skills. OTHER DUTIES Execute the duties of the position in alignment with the Company Mission and Conduct Policies. Use technology as required by the position. Complete required annual trainings as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Mentor and coach new drivers. Accurately complete payroll, time and attendance duties. Evaluate employee performance and provide constructive feedback. Develop new protocols with a focus on safety. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required. 5+years of experience in customer service, supply chain management, dispatch or logistics. CDL and spyder experience a plus. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Excellent customer service skills. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Thorough knowledge of nursery product. Ability to multitask, meet deadlines and prioritize under pressure. Adept at using Microsoft office suite, communication technology and SAGE MAS. Commitment to transparent communication with other departments and teams. Bilingual Spanish/English strongly encouraged.
