This position involves local port transportation and container hauling, with drivers returning home daily. The ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience, previous port experience, container hauling experience, and a valid TWIC card. We are looking for professional drivers who understand port operations, prioritize safety, and can reliably meet delivery schedules. Key Responsibilities Operate a Class A commercial tractor-trailer safely on local routes throughout the Tidewater region. Haul shipping containers to and from port terminals, rail yards, and designated delivery locations as assigned. Follow port terminal procedures, safety requirements, and container pickup and delivery protocols. Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Comply with all DOT regulations, hours-of-service requirements, and company policies. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and required driving documentation. Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding loads, delays, and delivery schedules. Report vehicle maintenance concerns, accidents, and safety issues promptly. Maintain professionalism and provide reliable service. Required Qualifications Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Minimum of 2 years of verifiable Class A truck driving experience. Previous port experience required. Previous container hauling experience required. Current, valid TWIC card required. Knowledge of port terminal operations and container transportation procedures. Acceptable driving record and ability to meet applicable insurance requirements. Knowledge of DOT regulations and hours-of-service requirements. Dependable, punctual, professional, and safety-conscious. Valid email address required for communication and application follow-up. What We Offer Weekly pay. Compensation Information This is a 1099 independent contractor position.
