Utz Environmental Services of Austin, Inc. is seeking an experienced Class A CDL Driver to join our growing team! With over 30 years of experience in the commercial landscaping industry, Utz Environmental is a recognized leader in landscape construction, maintenance, irrigation, hardscape, and arboriculture throughout Central Texas. We are looking for a reliable, safety-conscious driver with experience operating dump trucks, flatbed trucks, and heavy equipment trailers . This position plays an essential role in keeping our construction projects running efficiently by transporting equipment, materials, and supplies between our yard, vendors, and jobsites throughout the Greater Austin area. This is a local driving position with the opportunity to be home daily! JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Safely operate commercial dump trucks, flatbed trucks, and truck-and-trailer combinations. Haul heavy construction and landscaping equipment, including skid steers, mini excavators, tractors, compactors, and other machinery. Transport bulk materials such as dirt, gravel, rock, sand, mulch, and other landscape and construction supplies. Operate dump trucks for material deliveries, hauling, and disposal as needed. Safely load, unload, secure, and transport heavy equipment using flatbed and equipment trailers. Properly secure loads using chains, binders, straps, and other DOT-approved equipment. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and equipment. Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation. Coordinate daily transportation needs with project managers, superintendents, and field crews. Deliver and retrieve equipment and materials from multiple jobsites throughout Central Texas. Assist with loading, unloading, equipment staging, and general yard or jobsite operations when needed. Monitor vehicle condition and communicate maintenance or repair needs promptly. Follow all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies. Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with vendors, customers, and fellow employees. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS VALID CLASS A COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE (CDL) – REQUIRED. Experience operating commercial dump trucks and hauling equipment trailers. Experience safely transporting heavy construction equipment and oversized or heavy loads within applicable legal limits. Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, vehicle inspections, and proper load securement procedures. Acceptable driving record and ability to meet company insurance requirements. Ability to safely maneuver commercial vehicles and trailers in active construction sites, tight spaces, and varying terrain. Ability to operate manual-transmission commercial vehicles if required by assigned equipment. Ability to pass required DOT medical examinations and applicable drug and alcohol testing. Dependable transportation, punctuality, and a strong work ethic. Ability to perform physical labor, lift and secure equipment, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Willingness to assist with additional operational duties when not actively driving. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE Previous experience in commercial landscape construction, excavation, site development, or related industries. Experience operating skid steers, mini excavators, forklifts, tractors, and other construction equipment. Experience hauling equipment on gooseneck, pintle hitch, and flatbed trailers. Familiarity with construction jobsites throughout Austin and surrounding communities. Experience transporting aggregate materials and operating dump truck hydraulic systems.
