Position Overview We are hiring a reliable OTR Box Truck Driver to transport freight across state lines in a 26-foot box truck. This position involves over-the-road travel, with drivers potentially being away from home for several days at a time. The primary responsibility is safely transporting freight between pickup and delivery locations. Some assignments will be dock-to-dock deliveries, while others may require drivers to assist with loading, unloading, and moving freight using a manual pallet jack. We are looking for someone who understands how to operate a commercial vehicle, properly secure freight, and handle transportation equipment safely. Key Responsibilities Safely operate a 26-foot box truck on assigned OTR routes. Pick up and deliver freight on time according to dispatch instructions. Perform dock-to-dock deliveries and assist with loading or unloading when required. Properly secure freight using cargo straps and other securement equipment. Safely operate a manual pallet jack to move and position freight. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) and required transportation documentation. Communicate regularly with dispatch regarding load status, delays, and delivery updates. Follow DOT regulations, company safety procedures, and all applicable traffic laws. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the truck's cab and cargo area. Qualifications & Requirements Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (Medical Card) required before operating the vehicle. Candidates without one may receive assistance coordinating an examination before their start date. Previous experience operating a commercial vehicle is strongly preferred. Experience operating a 26-foot box truck is a plus. Ability to safely operate and maneuver a commercial vehicle, including backing into loading docks. Knowledge of proper freight securement using cargo straps. Ability to safely operate a manual pallet jack. Physically capable of assisting with loading and unloading freight when necessary. Willingness and availability to travel over the road and remain away from home for multiple days. Ability to follow directions, communicate professionally, and work independently. Dependable, punctual, and committed to safe driving practices. CDL preferred, but not required. Compensation & Schedule Pay: 20% of gross revenue generated from each assigned load. Payment Frequency: Weekly. Schedule: OTR assignments based on freight availability and dispatch needs. Travel: Interstate travel required, including overnight stays and extended trips.
