Responsibilities Safely operate passenger vehicles such as specialized medical transport vans or vehicles following all traffic laws and company policies. Navigate local driving routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely arrivals at scheduled destinations. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing courteous support especially for individuals with mobility challenges or special needs. Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of vehicles to ensure optimal safety and comfort for all passengers. Communicate effectively with clients to confirm appointments, provide updates on schedules, and address any special requirements or concerns. Adhere strictly to state transportation regulations and company protocols related to passenger safety, vehicle operation, and documentation. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to identify maintenance needs or safety issues, reporting any concerns promptly. Requirements Requirements Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle being operated. CDL is not required but is accepted. No more than 3 moving violations on driving record. Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test. Must successfully pass required state and federal background checks. NEMT state-required certifications. Classes will be provided if needed. Smartphone or tablet with data required for the driver app and GPS navigation. Ability to safely assist passengers with mobility aids, including canes, walkers, and wheelchairs, and perform necessary lifting and physical assistance. Excellent communication skills with clients, healthcare providers, and team members. Prior medical transportation experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates.
