ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Transports patients to and from healthcare facilities for medical appointment and hospital discharge.
  • Assists patients entering and exiting vehicle.
  • Operates lift gate to facilitate transport of wheelchair/stretcher patients.
  • Maintains daily log of mileage, number of trips, passengers, destination and fuel consumption.
  • Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA Privacy Rule and completes HIPAA training annually.
  • Participates in random drug tests.
  • Performs routine visual inspection of vehicle to ensure cleanliness, proper and safe operations, visual inspections to – tires, brakes, windshield, check for breakage and/or cracks, test headlights/break lights and signal. In additional visual inspection to body of vehicle for any dents.
  • Participates in departmental and strategic planning meetings.
  • Maintains license and skills level in order to perform duties and functions.
  • Maintains communication with immediate supervisor and keeps supervisor abreast of license and credentials.
  • Reports any incidents or accidents to immediate supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MANDATORY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

One (1) year direct work experience and five (5) years of an exemplary driving record.

Education:

High School Diploma or HSE (Equivalency)

First Aid and CPR certification – may be obtained at time of employment.
