Night Shift Reefer CDL A Driver - East Granby CT

We are hiring CDL-A drivers for a local night-shift grocery delivery operation based out of East Granby, CT. Drivers deliver fresh and frozen groceries to supermarkets and distribution centers throughout the NYC boroughs, Long Island, and the Northeast. This is a steady local route with daily home time, assigned automatic daycabs, and strong stop-based pay. Pay and earnings $0.48 - $0.56 per mile Average weekly pay: $1,900 - $2,100 $50 daily rate $21 drop-and-hook pay per stop $42 per NYC stop in Queens, Bronx, Manhattan, Staten Island, and Brooklyn $45 per lift-gate stop $15 per hour detention pay $100 layover pay Annualized earnings: about $100,000 Benefits Medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) retirement plan Life insurance Short- and long-term disability coverage Paid time off based on tenure, including vacation and sick time Schedule and home time Split-AM / overnight schedule Start in West Haven between 12:00 AM and 1:30 AM Travel to North Hatfield, MA, for a 2:00 AM - 4:00 AM pickup Deliver to stores and distribution centers Start and end each day at the East Granby, CT, yard Home daily Drivers must provide their own transportation to and from work Assigned trucks cannot be taken home during time off What you’ll haul Fresh and frozen grocery freight Reefer trailers in 46 foot, 48 foot, 51 foot, and 53 foot sizes Deliveries to supermarkets and distribution centers Primary delivery area: NYC boroughs and Long Island, about 80–90% of deliveries Additional delivery areas: NJ, MA, VT, RI, NH, ME, PA, and parts of upstate NY Multi-stop routes averaging 15 - 20 stops per week Drivers normally complete one long load per day, with an occasional shorter load if hours allow Drivers may pick up return product or a backhaul to return to the distribution center Equipment and duties Assigned automatic daycab Reefer trailer Electric pallet jack training provided Drivers assist with unloading at stores using an electric pallet jack Drivers may support other nearby accounts as needed Trucks remain at the account facility during time off What we need Valid Class A CDL Minimum 3 - 6 months of trucking experience Comfortable operating in NYC boroughs and surrounding Northeast markets Willingness to work an overnight split AM schedule Ability to provide personal transportation to and from the East Granby, CT, yard Safe driving record and ability to meet DOT requirements
