Night Shift Dump Truck Driver

Job Summary As a Dump Truck Driver, you’ll transport materials safely and efficiently to job sites and delivery locations. You’ll inspect your vehicle, plan routes with GPS navigation, and coordinate loading and unloading to keep freight moving. Your impact: Safe, timely deliveries help crews receive the materials they need to keep work progressing. Responsibilities Operate dump trucks and other commercial vehicles, including manual-transmission equipment, in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. Follow assigned route-driving and over-the-road (OTR) routes; use GPS navigation and adjust for road, site, and delivery conditions. Coordinate truck loading and unloading, load securement, and manual handling of cargo; communicate with dispatch and site teams. Complete vehicle inspections and required driving, delivery, and logistics records; report maintenance or safety concerns promptly. Follow hazardous materials and dangerous goods requirements when applicable; handle freight and equipment such as flatbed, tanker, refrigerated trailer, tractor-trailer, or automobile transportation assignments as qualified. Requirements Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and ability to meet applicable DOT and FMCSA requirements. Commercial truck driving, truck driving, commercial driving, or delivery driver experience; familiarity with delivery driving and route driving. Safe driving practices, sound judgment, and ability to perform manual handling and load-and-unload tasks. Knowledge of hazmat (hazardous materials) rules is preferred; experience with flatbed, tanker, refrigerated trailer, tractor-trailer, freight, or automobile transportation is a plus. Ability to follow site procedures and applicable hazardous materials regulations; required endorsements or qualifications depend on assigned vehicle and cargo.
