Night Loader / Shunter

Our night warehouse team gets every order loaded, checked and ready to roll before the sun comes up. About the Role We're looking for a reliable Night Loader / Shunter to join our warehouse team, reporting to the Night Warehouse Manager. Your main job is loading trucks for next-day delivery. The candidate will be responsible for shunting empty and loaded trailers from the loading docks to and from the yard. Set up trailers for loading, arrange trucks by sequence, verify loads are complete and secure and perform other closing duties as needed. What You'll Do – Loading (primary) Load trailers accurately and securely according to the daily route sheet and truck sequence Verify loads are complete, correct and properly secured before closing Select orders, replenish inventory and run product directly to the proper truck as needed Keep docks and loading areas clean, organized and safe Help with closing duties at the end of the shift What You'll Do – Shunting (backup coverage) Move empty and loaded trailers between the yard and loading docks Set up trailers for loading and arrange trucks by dispatch sequence Complete daily vehicle checks and report any mechanical defects or damage Check reefer units to make sure every load is at the correct temperature set point Retrieve trucks from the repair shop for next-day dispatch Drive company vehicles safely and courteously at all times What We're Looking For Valid Ontario G licence (required) Warehouse, loading or distribution experience; produce or foodservice experience is an asset Pallet jack and forklift experience is an asset Shunting/yard truck experience is an asset; we'll train the right person Familiarity with HACCP, WHMIS and safe work procedures is an asset Strong attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment Good communication skills and a team-first attitude Available for night shifts, including weekends Physical Requirements Lift and move cases up to 50 lbs Stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull and squat for extended periods Work in a refrigerated environment Able to hear warning horns on moving equipment Why Join Us Steady, full-time night hours Stable, growing company that's been feeding the GTA for decades Supportive team environment This posting is for an existing vacancy.
