.NET Developer & Internal Systems Lead
Kirkwood Home GalleryAbout Us Kirkwood Stair & Millwork (KSM) is a custom stair and millwork fabrication company headquartered in Pacific, Missouri. Our craftsmen blend old-world joinery — mortise and tenon, dovetailing — with advanced CNC equipment to produce premium staircases, railings, and architectural woodwork from domestic hardwoods and select exotics. Every component is built at our facility. Learn more at https://kstair.com. We are in an active growth phase — expanding into prefabricated stair production, pursuing out-of-market opportunities, and investing heavily in the internal systems that will make that scale possible. Technology is not a support function here. It is a competitive advantage. About the Role This is a high-ownership, high-impact role at a company that is building something. You will inherit and evolve OE2 — our proprietary .NET/SQL Server order entry and operations platform — which is the backbone of how KSM estimates, quotes, tracks jobs, manages production, and bills customers. You will work directly alongside our current developer during a structured knowledge transfer before taking full ownership of the system. Our stack spans .NET/SQL Server and Microsoft cloud tools including Azure DevOps and Microsoft 365. Beyond maintaining what exists, you will help us build what comes next: AI-assisted estimating, automated purchasing and materials planning, production scheduling tools, and eventually a customer-facing prefab stair configurator. If you are energized by applying emerging AI tooling to real manufacturing workflows — and want to do it inside a company where your work is immediately visible — this role is for you. Manufacturing experience is not required. Curiosity about how things are built, and genuine excitement about what AI can do, absolutely is. What You Will Be Building Toward KSM’s technology roadmap includes: AI-assisted estimating — reading job specs and generating scoped estimates from historical data Full MRP integration — materials requirements planning tied to job pipeline, inventory, and purchasing Automated purchasing module — replacing manual, tribal-knowledge-dependent procurement Production scheduling tools — shop capacity, CNC time, crew, and delivery coordination OE2 as a true internal ERP — estimate through install through billing in a single system Core ResponsibilitiesSoftware Development (50–60%) Develop and maintain internal .NET applications (C#, ASP.NET Core, Blazor) Own and evolve Proposal Generation and Order Entry systems Ensure stability and availability — 99.9% uptime target Build new modules and integrations as the roadmap demands Use AI-assisted development tools including GitHub Copilot Deploy, Maintain & Secure Applications (15–20%) Build, publish, and deploy to IIS and Azure environments Configure app pools, bindings, SSL, and code signing Maintain stable staging and production environments Coordinate with outsourced IT for server escalations Internal User Support (5%) Provide Tier 1/2 helpdesk support Document common fixes and support both office and shop staff Business Process Learning & Improvement (10–15%) Learn stair-manufacturing workflows and the full order lifecycle Understand how proposals, orders, production, and billing connect Help identify, scope, and prioritize system improvements Required Qualifications Hands-on experience with C# and .NET Understanding of web applications and SQL Server Front-end fundamentals — HTML, CSS, JavaScript Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure DevOps, and source control (Git / Azure Repos) Familiarity with SharePoint Experience with Power Automate and/or Power BI Experience building internal portals, dashboards, or estimating tools Interest in learning Blazor, IIS, and deployment workflows Genuine enthusiasm for AI tooling and how it can be applied to real business problems Strong troubleshooting and communication skills Curiosi…
