• Assist commercial and retail customers in person and by telephone with availability, pricing, orders, and product questions.
• Create accurate invoices, quotes, special orders, returns, warranties, and credits under company procedures.
• Verify applications, part numbers, quantities, prices, account information, and delivery details before completing transactions.
• Source parts from distribution centers, company locations, vendors, and approved suppliers when necessary.
• Follow up on special orders, quotes, and customer commitments.
• Recommend related parts, tools, chemicals, and supplies when they provide legitimate customer value.
• Protect customer relationships by communicating delays, shortages, and mistakes promptly.
• Assist with stocking, merchandising, cycle counts, shelf-location accuracy, and store recovery.
• Maintain an organized, professional sales counter, showroom, and assigned work area.
• Coordinate with commercial sales, drivers, warehouse staff, other stores, and management.
• Perform additional sales and operational duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
• Shows up on time, prepared, and ready to contribute.
• Works with urgency without sacrificing accuracy, safety, or professionalism.
• Communicates problems early and follows through on commitments.
• Can organize competing priorities and work without constant supervision.
• Accepts responsibility, coaching, and changing business needs.
• Looks for practical ways to help customers, teammates, and the operation succeed.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Automotive parts, repair, dealership, retail parts, or counter sales experience strongly preferred.
• Automotive mechanical knowledge and electronic catalog experience preferred.
• Ability to identify parts by year, make, model, engine, VIN, and application information.
• Strong computer, point-of-sale, communication, math, and cash-handling skills.
• Dependable attendance, reliable transportation, and the ability to manage several customers and tasks without losing accuracy.
• ASE Parts Specialist certification is a plus.
Sales & Customer Service Expectations
• Ask enough questions to understand the repair and verify the application before selling.
• Take ownership of finding a workable solution instead of stopping at 'we do not have it.'
• Use alternative sourcing and product options responsibly; never misrepresent fit, availability, quality, or delivery timing.
• Follow up when promised and document customer commitments clearly.
• Learn regular customers' operations and buying patterns while protecting confidential account information.
• Identify lost-sales patterns and communicate stocking or sales opportunities to management.
• Balance speed, margin awareness, and customer value; do not create avoidable returns just to close a sale.
