MRO Material Buyer

Position Summary MUVIQ USA is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented MRO Material Buyer to support our manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for purchasing and managing maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) supplies, production materials, office supplies, and spare parts. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in industrial purchasing, vendor management, and inventory control, with the ability to manage purchasing activities independently and contribute to cost-saving initiatives. Key Responsibilities Manage purchasing and inventory of office, production, and maintenance supplies, including spare parts. Monitor inventory levels to ensure materials and supplies are available to support uninterrupted plant operations. Evaluate vendor performance, pricing, quality, and delivery reliability. Negotiate pricing, purchasing terms, and vendor agreements to achieve cost-effective solutions. Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships, identifying opportunities for vendor-managed inventory programs. Ensure purchased materials and services meet quality standards, application requirements, and cost expectations. Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor documentation, and purchase orders. Coordinate with vendors, production, maintenance, receiving, and accounting departments to resolve purchasing and delivery issues. Monitor purchase order status and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries. Identify cost-saving opportunities through competitive quotations, supplier negotiations, and process improvements. Participate in plant cost-reduction initiatives and collaborate with suppliers on continuous improvement opportunities. Support compliance with applicable quality standards, customer-specific requirements, and IATF 16949 procedures. Identify and report potential quality or process nonconformances and assist with corrective actions as appropriate. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably involving MRO materials and spare parts. Demonstrated experience managing purchase orders, supplier relationships, pricing negotiations, and inventory levels. Working knowledge of industrial supplies, maintenance materials, and spare parts procurement. Experience using ERP systems to manage purchasing transactions, inventory records, and vendor information. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize purchasing needs, and manage multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision. Effective communication skills and experience coordinating with production, maintenance, receiving, and accounting departments. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as an MRO Buyer, Purchasing Specialist, Procurement Specialist, or Industrial Buyer. Experience in automotive manufacturing or a related industrial environment. Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements and manufacturing quality management systems. Experience implementing cost-reduction initiatives and vendor-managed inventory programs.
