Mobile Mechanic / Fleet Service Technician (East Coast)

Mobile Mechanic, East Coast – NJ, NY, MD, CT, MA We're looking for a reliable, hands-on mechanic to join our team! Starway Fleet is a small, independently owned business that provides maintenance, repairs, and equipment installations for commercial fleet vehicles. We're growing and looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving problems, and can be trusted to get the job done right. This is a mobile position, so you won't be working in the same shop every day. You'll travel to different locations throughout the Northeast (and on the rare occasion other states), helping keep commercial trucks and vans maintained, repaired, and ready for work. You don't need to check every box to apply! While mechanical experience is important, we're just as interested in finding the right person. We're looking for someone who has demonstrated they can work independently, deliver quality work, communicate honestly, and follow through on their commitments. If you have a solid foundation in basic automotive maintenance, are trustworthy, take your work seriously, and are willing to learn, we'd love to hear from you. What You'll Be Doing Performing routine maintenance, including oil changes, brakes, batteries, filters, and minor repairs Troubleshooting common vehicle issues and identifying needed repairs Traveling to different locations to service commercial trucks and vans Inspecting vehicles and helping keep them safe and ready for use Installing and repairing equipment such as ladder racks, shelving, lighting, and other accessories Keeping simple records of completed work, including photos and notes Communicating with our team about repairs, parts, scheduling, and job progress What Matters Most to Us Dependability: You show up, follow through, and do what you say you're going to do. Experience We're Looking For Hands-on experience with basic automotive maintenance and repairs Ability to perform common maintenance tasks independently and safely Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Willingness to travel throughout the Northeast Comfort working outdoors and at different fleet locations Bonus Skills (But Not Required!) Experience maintaining commercial fleet vehicles Experience with Ford Transits, Ram ProMasters, Ford F-250s, or similar vehicles Installing or replacing vehicle windows Vehicle upfitting, including ladder racks, shelving, storage systems, and other equipment Basic electrical work, wiring, lighting, or accessory installations Don't have experience with everything listed?
