Mobile Heavy-Duty Truck & Trailer Technician Wheel-it Industries LLC Location: Mesa or Phoenix, AZ and surrounding service area Job type: Full-time, W-2 employee Pay: $28–$40 per hour, depending on experience — hourly or approved flag pay, whichever is higher Overview Wheel-it Industries is hiring an experienced Mobile Heavy-Duty Truck & Trailer Technician to perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance for our commercial customers. This position is for a technician who can work independently, diagnose problems accurately, communicate clearly, and document completed repairs. You’ll travel to customer locations in a company service truck, review assigned work orders, inspect equipment, perform authorized repairs, and verify that the original concern has been resolved. Our work includes heavy-duty trucks and trailers, brakes and air systems, wheel ends, electrical problems, preventive maintenance, emissions, and breakdown repairs. We value safe work, sound diagnostic judgment, and keeping customers informed. Pay, Schedule & Benefits $28–$40 per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated ability. Pay revision after 90 days. Hourly or approved flag pay, whichever pays more. Earn the higher of your hourly earnings or approved flag earnings. 40-hour weekly guarantee. Overtime opportunities. Flexible scheduling , coordinated around customer appointments, assigned jobs, and service coverage. Company service truck , with take-home eligibility based on home location, driving record, and insurance approval. W-2 employment. Health insurance is being worked on. Duties & ResponsibilitiesMobile Service & Work Order Management Review assigned work orders, customer concerns, equipment information, and service locations before heading to a job. Coordinate with dispatch or management regarding arrival times, job progress, parts needs, delays, and completion. Confirm the correct truck or trailer, unit number, and relevant equipment information before starting work. Maintain an organized service truck and handle company equipment responsibly. Diagnostics & Repairs Diagnose the cause of a problem through inspection, testing, service information, and appropriate diagnostic equipment. Perform truck and trailer repairs involving brakes, air systems, wheel ends, seals, bearings, suspension, lighting, wiring, and related components. Troubleshoot electrical faults using wiring diagrams, meters, and systematic testing. Perform preventive maintenance and identify conditions that may affect safe or reliable operation. Recognize when a repair requires additional information, equipment, or assistance, and communicate that need promptly. Repair Authorization & Customer Communication Report findings clearly, including the recommended repair, required parts, and any additional concerns. Obtain approval through the established work order process before performing additional work outside the authorized scope. Communicate professionally with customers and explain findings in straightforward language. Keep dispatch or management informed when a job changes or equipment cannot safely return to service. Documentation & Quality Control Keep accurate digital work orders documenting the customer’s concern, diagnostic findings, cause of failure, and repair performed. Record labor and travel time, parts used, relevant measurements, and supporting photos. Capture required customer reference information and service-location details in the designated work order fields and comments. Complete documentation promptly so the office can review the job and prepare accurate billing. Verify repairs through appropriate operational checks and testing before reporting the work complete.
