Mobile Diesel Mechanic — Independent Contractor

ProFleetX, Inc. is expanding its independent contractor network. We provide mobile fleet maintenance and emergency repair services for commercial fleet customers across the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex and Houston, and we are looking for experienced independent mobile mechanics to partner with us. What we offer: $80/hour for regular hours (Mon–Fri before 5 PM); $95/hour for after-hours and weekends Net 7 payment terms, issued every Friday — no waiting 30 days on fleet accounts Recurring fleet accounts plus emergency repair work, dispatched by work order You see the job and location up front and choose which assignments to accept Rates are all-inclusive of your labor, tools, truck, fuel, and insurance What we require: Proven diesel/fleet experience — diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repair Your own service truck, tools, and diagnostic equipment Valid driver's license Commercial auto liability insurance in force (certificate required before your first job) Completed W-9 — this is a 1099 independent contractor engagement, not employment Work performed to manufacturer specifications and DOT requirements Referral opportunity: we pay a $100 finder's fee when a mechanic you refer signs on as a ProFleetX contractor and completes his first job. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engine systems, transmissions, and electrical components on trucks and field service equipment. Perform routine maintenance, alignments, hydraulic and air brake system service, and tire maintenance as needed. Utilize hand tools and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot, test, and verify repairs in various locations. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and customer specifications; maintain accurate service reports and documentation. Communicate with clients to assess needs, provide updates, and deliver skilled, timely mobile on-site service as an independent contractor.
