Job Overview Mavel Fleet Service is a Veteran owned and operated small business dedicated to helping businesses get trucks and equipment back on the road. We are a mobile fleet maintenance company that offers competitive pay and monthly bonuses based on personal efficiency. 90% of our jobs are at customer locations that do not involve roadside assistance. I personally don't like being on the highway so I don't expect you to either. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment and diesel engines. This role involves working on a variety of machinery including heavy equipment and vehicle fleets. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals. This is a hands-on position requiring attention to detail, safety consciousness, and excellent problem-solving skills. Responsibilities Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, and air brake systems. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake adjustments, DOT inspections, and preventative maintenanc. Fabricate parts or modifications using welding, soldering, and other fabrication techniques as needed. Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery safely and efficiently. Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues on various equipment types. Assist with assembly or disassembly of machinery for repair or maintenance purposes. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations while maintaining a clean work environment. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively about repairs and maintenance needs. Requirements Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic or Service Technician. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, heavy equipment operation, and industrial machinery repair. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other repair tools. Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals accurately. Experience with Caterpillar equipment or similar heavy machinery is highly desirable. Knowledge of farm machinery, tractor-trailers, excavators, cranes, HVAC systems, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical systems. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing mechanical issues. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required; CDL certification is a plus. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
