Mobile Diesel & Fleet Technician
DuraFleet Allentown### **Job description** DuraFleet Allentown is seeking an experienced Mobile Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Technician to join our growing team. This is a hands-on, mobile position providing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and roadside service directly at our customers' locations throughout the Allentown, Reading, and surrounding areas. Unlike a traditional shop position, you'll work directly with commercial fleet customers to help keep their vehicles on the road and minimize downtime. You'll be provided with a company service truck and the equipment needed to perform mobile fleet service. We're looking for someone who is mechanically skilled, dependable, professional with customers, and comfortable working independently in the field. Because you'll often be the face of DuraFleet at a customer's location, communication and professionalism are just as important as technical ability. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on commercial trucks and fleet vehicles at customer locations Diagnose mechanical, electrical, brake, suspension, starting/charging, and other vehicle issues Perform oil changes, fluid services, filter replacements, brake repairs, batteries, belts, hoses, lighting, and other routine fleet maintenance Diagnose and repair diesel engine and related systems Perform DOT-related inspections and identify safety or maintenance concerns Respond to roadside service and breakdown calls when scheduled Use diagnostic equipment and technical information to accurately identify vehicle problems Document inspections, maintenance, repairs, parts, and services performed Communicate clearly with customers regarding vehicle condition and recommended repairs Maintain an organized and professional company service truck and work area Follow DuraFleet safety procedures and applicable industry standards Represent DuraFleet professionally at customer facilities and job sites Qualifications Previous diesel mechanic, truck technician, fleet maintenance, or similar experience required Strong working knowledge of diesel engines and commercial vehicle systems Experience diagnosing mechanical and electrical problems Knowledge of brakes, suspension, steering, electrical, starting/charging, and preventive maintenance Ability to safely use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, jacks, and other service equipment Ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems in the field Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Reliable, punctual, and able to communicate professionally with customers Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions Commercial driver's license (CDL) and/or Pennsylvania inspection certifications are a plus but not required.
