IRG Building Products LLCSummary of Position: The Purchasing Manager is responsible for obtaining all materials required to complete a project. This includes all items used in manufacturing as well as items to be sent directly to the project site. The only exception are items being performed by a subcontractor, which is performed by the Buyout Coordinator. Duties & Responsibilities: · Review finish plan and collect all necessary samples for submittal. · Perform material takeoff on IRG/DAW submittal shop drawings, listing all material quantities required for the project. · Perform final comparison of material take-off to released shop drawings. Supplement as necessary. · Provide submittal samples as required for project and package for delivery. · Label in-stock material assigned to project. · Provide overview of purchasing status of all projects during Production Meeting’s. · Alert PM, Production Mgr, Estimating, CFO of lead time or pricing issues as discovered. · Maintain up to date tracking information on all orders. · Alert vendors of inferior product and coordinate returns. · Compare material takeoff to IRG inventory and check supply on all items not in inventory. Lead times should be compared to IRG/DAW schedule, if lead times exceed schedule it will need to be escalated to the General Manager. · Obtain multiple prices on significant orders · Verify all pricing is equal or below carried values. · Obtain approval from Project Management or General Manager to order materials. · Issue Purchase Orders as required to procure necessary materials. · Develop and maintain Purchase Order copies in shop for use by receivers. · Verify Purchase Orders to Ship Lists for completeness of order. · Maintain record of goods ordered and received. Information should be accessible and readily available for review. · Assess, manage and mitigate risks through requisitioning reliable vendors and suppliers. · Provide lay-up lists in conjunction with Cabinet Vision in compliance with project schedule. · Develop and maintain levels of stock in stockroom. Label and inventory job specific items separate from stock materials.
