As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a strategic, detail-driven Millwork Purchaser to join our team in Phoenix, AZ . Position Overview In this role, you will do much more than just place orders—you will own the material lifecycle for complex, custom architectural projects. You will act as the critical link between our design team, project managers, and the shop floor to ensure premium materials arrive on time, on budget, and to exact specifications. If you have a deep understanding of architectural millwork and excel at optimizing vendor networks, we want to hear from you. What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities) Strategic Sourcing: Source, negotiate, and procure premium lumber, sheet goods, specialized hardware, and finishes tailored to custom architectural specifications. Vendor Management: Build and leverage relationships with key distributors to secure competitive pricing, volume discounts, and reliable lead times. Cross-Functional Scheduling: Partner closely with Production, Engineering, and Project Managers to align material deliveries with tight shop production schedules. Tech-Driven Inventory: Manage and track purchase orders, lead times, and inventory levels utilizing Innergy ERP , QuickBooks , and Excel . Value Engineering: Review project take-offs and blueprints to identify cost-saving material alternatives without sacrificing structural integrity or design intent. What We’re Looking For (Qualifications) Industry Experience: Minimum 2+ years of dedicated purchasing experience specifically within custom cabinetry, architectural millwork, or commercial construction. Technical Knowledge: Strong foundational understanding of wood species, grading, sheet goods, hardware mechanics, and finishing processes. Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with specialized ERP software (ideally Innergy ) alongside QuickBooks and strong Excel skills. Blueprint Literacy: Ability to confidently read and interpret architectural shop drawings, submittals, and material take-offs. Negotiation Skills: Proven track record of negotiating favorable terms, managing vendor lead-time risks, and solving supply chain bottlenecks.
