alongside supply chain, legal, and engineering teams to maintain trade compliance, mitigate risks, and resolve any customs issues that arise.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee end-to-end import processes for materials and components entering SAAB manufacturing sites.
• Prepare, review, and maintain precise import and customs documentation.
• Classify goods using HTS and apply appropriate duties, taxes, and trade preferences efficiently.
• Ensure adherence to global trade regulations, including ITAR/EAR and relevant sanctions.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics partners to swiftly resolve issues.
• Collaborate with supply chain, legal, and engineering teams to optimize import strategies and mitigate risks.
• Monitor shipment statuses, analyze lead times, and report on performance metrics related to imports.
• Identify and implement process improvements aimed at reducing costs and cycle times.
• Maintain accurate data and configurations in ERP and associated logistics systems.
• Support internal audits and assist in responding to customs or regulatory inquiries.
Required Skills:
• Thorough knowledge of import/export documentation.
• Understanding of customs regulations (U.S. and international).
• Expertise in HTS classification.
• Familiarity with Incoterms.
• Strong knowledge of trade compliance (ITAR/EAR, sanctions, export controls).
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with vendors and freight forwarders.
• Strong skills in risk and cost analysis.
• Advanced Excel capabilities.
