DumpStorJob Overview Mid-Atlantic Safety & Fleet Manager / Driver Home Base: Manassas, Virginia Region: Mid-Atlantic Industry: Dumpster Rental / Waste & Hauling Position: Full-Time Compensation: Based on experience We are seeking a hands-on Mid-Atlantic Safety & Fleet Manager / Driver for our growing dumpster rental operation. This position is based out of Manassas, Virginia and will support our operations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Driving is a major part of this position. This is not a desk-based fleet management role. The person in this position will regularly run dumpster delivery, pickup, and swap routes while also taking ownership of fleet safety, maintenance, organization, and equipment readiness. Our Northern Virginia operation currently consists of 8 trucks and several hundred dumpsters , with this role supporting our expanding Mid-Atlantic operations. Key Responsibilities Regularly drive dumpster delivery, pickup, and swap routes Provide driving support throughout the Mid-Atlantic region as needed Oversee truck and equipment safety and fleet readiness Manage preventative maintenance and service schedules Coordinate repairs and scheduled service with dealerships and outside vendors Transport trucks to and from dealerships and service facilities Perform minor repairs and fixes, including hydraulic hose replacement, lights, basic electrical items, and similar repairs Regularly grease trucks, hoists, and dumpsters Inspect trucks and dumpsters and identify potential problems before they create downtime Maintain detailed and organized maintenance, repair, inspection, and service records Monitor driver safety and proper equipment operation Assist drivers with mechanical or equipment issues in the field Help maintain the condition and readiness of several hundred dumpsters Maintain an organized fleet and maintenance area Support additional Mid-Atlantic locations as our operations continue to grow Requirements Clean driving record required Experience and confidence operating medium-duty trucks Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to handle minor truck and equipment repairs Extremely organized and detail-oriented Strong commitment to safety and preventative maintenance Dependable and able to work independently Comfortable working outdoors and around trucks and heavy equipment Ability to travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic region when necessary Waste industry, roll-off, dumpster rental, trucking, equipment, or similar fleet experience is a plus Who We're Looking For We want someone who takes personal ownership of the fleet . You should know which trucks need service, what repairs are outstanding, which dumpsters need attention, and what needs to happen to keep the operation moving safely and efficiently. This position combines driving, safety, fleet management, preventative maintenance, and hands-on problem solving . The right person will be just as comfortable spending the day behind the wheel as coordinating a dealership repair, replacing a hydraulic hose, or organizing the fleet's maintenance schedule. Compensation is competitive and will depend on experience. Waste industry and roll-off experience are highly desirable.
