Metro Advanced Transportation Plan Director - (2602630) Position Information The San Antonio District is seeking a Metro Advanced Transportation Planning Director to lead the development and advancement of schematic and environmental projects within the Advanced Transportation Planning Office. The San Antonio region continues to experience significant growth, creating both opportunities and challenges for the transportation system. The Advanced Transportation Planning Office plays a critical role in planning, developing, funding, and advancing transportation improvements ranging from major mobility projects to smaller community-focused initiatives that address the region’s evolving transportation needs. The selected candidate will lead a broad range of project development activities, including schematic development, environmental project delivery, right of way acquisition, utility coordination, and design integration. The position will also require a strong understanding of the Unified Transportation Program (UTP) and its funding categories, including the ability to support project programming for the district’s Four-Year Transportation Plan. Additional responsibilities include supporting public involvement efforts, overseeing selected planning studies, coordinating with local governments and other stakeholders, and helping advance projects from early planning through project development. We are seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking leader to guide the Advanced Project Development Team and help shape the future transportation network of the San Antonio region. This position will lead a multidisciplinary team of Professional Engineers, Project Managers, Contract Specialists, and Engineering Technicians while fostering collaboration, accountability, innovation, and excellence in project delivery.
