Merchandising Manager Job Summary The Merchandising Manager is responsible for maintaining effective product presentation, implementing merchandising standards, and supporting store sales objectives. This role oversees planogram execution, pricing accuracy, inventory organization, visual displays, and store presentation while supporting marketing initiatives and store updates. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, organization, communication, and retail merchandising skills. Key Responsibilities Supervise, train, and support merchandising team members through clear communication, coaching, and performance guidance. Implement and maintain planograms, product schematics, pricing standards, promotional displays, and brand presentation guidelines. Ensure accurate product placement, inventory organization, stock replenishment, and overall store appearance. Coordinate merchandising projects, promotional setups, visual displays, and store renovation or remodeling activities. Assist with visual design and marketing materials using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator when required. Support retail operations, including customer service, sales assistance, point-of-sale (POS) transactions, and cash handling as needed. Maintain organized, clean, and safe merchandising and storage areas. Coordinate merchandise movement, stocking activities, and the use of appropriate material-handling equipment in accordance with safety procedures. Follow company policies and safety guidelines when using ladders, handling merchandise, and completing store-related tasks. Communicate merchandising priorities, project updates, and operational needs to store management and relevant team members. Qualifications and Skills Previous retail experience in merchandising, store operations, inventory management, sales, or customer service. Experience supervising, training, or leading team members. Knowledge of planograms, product placement, pricing, inventory control, and retail merchandising standards. Strong organizational, time-management, problem-solving, and communication skills. Basic math and retail math skills, including pricing and inventory calculations. Familiarity with POS systems and cash-handling procedures. Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, visual merchandising, marketing displays, interior design, or store remodeling is an asset. Ability to use mobile devices and standard store equipment effectively and safely. Ability to perform the physical duties associated with merchandising, including standing, bending, reaching, moving merchandise, and lifting items in accordance with established safety guidelines. A valid driver's licence and experience operating material-handling equipment may be required when relevant to assigned duties. Additional language skills are an asset. Work Environment This position involves working in a retail store environment and may include coordinating merchandising projects, replenishing stock, arranging displays, and supporting store operations. Employees are expected to follow workplace health and safety procedures and use appropriate equipment when performing assigned duties.
