Merchandise Team Leader (Assistant Manager)

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Merchandise Team Leader (Assistant Manager) to join our retail team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily merchandising operations, lead a team of associates, and ensure the store’s visual presentation aligns with brand standards. Duties Supervise and motivate the merchandising team to execute planogram implementation and visual merchandising strategies effectively. Coordinate remodeling and interior design projects to refresh store layouts and enhance shopping experiences. Oversee stock management, inventory control, material handling, and manual handling procedures to ensure accurate stock levels Train and develop team members in management, customer service excellence, sales techniques, and safety protocols including ladder use and heavy lifting. Implement pricing strategies, manage POS systems, and handle cashing procedures with precision to support retail sales. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards within the store environment while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Requirements Proven supervising experience in retail or store management roles with demonstrated leadership skills. Strong understanding of marketing principles, visual merchandising, and planogram implementation. Knowledge of schematics, remodeling processes, interior design concepts, and retail store setup is preferred. Experience operating material handling equipment safely. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage inventory, stock replenishment, and time effectively. Exceptional communication skills for training staff, client interaction, and team coordination. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting; comfortable working at heights using ladders when necessary. Basic math skills for pricing calculations, retail math tasks, and inventory management accuracy. Experience with POS systems, cash handling procedures, retail sales strategies, and customer service excellence is essential.
