Merchandise Processing Specialist
JTIVAOverview We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and organized individual to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role that works closely with our warehouse team and company leadership to process merchandise for our live-selling business on eBay and other eCommerce channels. The primary responsibility of this position is to process incoming truckloads and pallets of merchandise, efficiently sorting, organizing, and preparing products for the next stage of our sales process. Merchandise changes daily and may include clothing, shoes, toys, household goods, home décor, furniture, jewelry, accessories, sporting goods, health and beauty products, and other general merchandise. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys a fast-paced, constantly changing work environment, can make quick decisions, stays organized, and isn't afraid to jump in and get the job done. This position requires someone who can work independently while also communicating effectively with team members and leadership.. Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and oversee the processing of incoming pallets, truckloads, and merchandise shipments. Sort and categorize a wide variety of merchandise, including clothing, shoes, toys, household goods, home décor, furniture, jewelry, accessories, and other general merchandise. Evaluate incoming products and determine the appropriate category, department, or next step in the sales process. Maintain an efficient workflow to ensure merchandise is processed accurately and moved through the warehouse in a timely manner. Safely operate material-handling equipment and assist with moving, loading, unloading, and organizing bulk merchandise. Work closely with team members and leadership to maintain consistent sorting, merchandising, and processing standards. Identify damaged, incomplete, unsellable, or incorrectly categorized merchandise and determine the appropriate next step. Keep merchandise, pallets, work areas, and processing stations clean and organized. Help establish and improve processes that increase productivity, organization, and efficiency. Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding inventory, workflow, priorities, and operational needs. Assist with other warehouse and merchandise-processing duties as needed Qualifications Previous experience working in a warehouse, stockroom, retail backroom, fulfillment, liquidation, or similar environment preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to sort, categorize, and manage large quantities of merchandise efficiently. Comfortable working independently, making decisions, and taking ownership of assigned responsibilities. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment where merchandise, priorities, and daily tasks can change frequently. Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members and management. Ability to safely lift, move, and handle boxes, merchandise, furniture, and other inventory throughout the workday. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify damaged, incomplete, mislabeled, or unsellable merchandise. Basic math and inventory-management skills. Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, scanners, and other mobile devices for inventory and warehouse-related tasks. Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and keep merchandise moving through the processing workflow. Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent productivity with limited supervision. Willingness to learn new processes and adapt as the needs of the business change. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs . Ability to safely move, push, pull, and maneuver heavier merchandise, carts, pallets, and furniture Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
