Merchandise Controller - Distribution Center Location: Ontario, CA Pay: $22.50/hour Environment: Distribution Center / Retail Operations About the Opportunity Excellent opportunity to join the distribution operation of a Fortune 100 global retail organization with thousands of stores and a major presence across the U.S. and international markets. Its distribution centers serve as critical hubs within a large-scale supply chain, moving significant volumes of merchandise to retail locations throughout the country. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate demonstrates: Strong attention to detail and accuracy Reliability and accountability Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced distribution environment Strong problem-solving skills Flexibility and adaptability as priorities change Ability to communicate issues clearly and professionally Willingness to learn merchandise standards, systems, and processes Ability to collaborate with warehouse associates, management, and corporate teams Key Responsibilities Review merchandise to ensure it meets purchase order specifications and company standards. Verify merchandise is appropriate for the locations and markets being serviced by the distribution center. Inspect merchandise for quality, sizing, style, color, quantity, labeling, ticketing, packaging, and overall presentation. Identify vendor compliance issues related to how merchandise is packed, ticketed, labeled, and shipped. Review retail pricing and merchandise information for accuracy and consistency with company standards. Ensure merchandise meets applicable requirements for fiber content, care instructions, labeling, and country of origin. Review logos, graphics, hangtags, and other merchandise details for accuracy and appropriateness. Identify size, quantity, or assortment discrepancies and communicate issues to the appropriate internal teams. Evaluate merchandise received outside of expected purchase orders and assist with proper classification and pricing. Develop working knowledge of merchandise terminology, fabrics, quality standards, and sizing requirements. Maintain accurate records and problem-status logs for merchandise requiring additional review or special handling. Utilize distribution center and merchandise systems to research discrepancies and resolve problems. Partner with operations Monday – Friday 6AM-2:30PM with some possible overtime and weekends. #MCTA1
