SUMMARY

The ideal candidate effectively communicates with both prospective and current Members while representing the Credit Union in a professional and positive manner. They identify and deliver solutions to Members’ financial needs through strong knowledge of products and services. 

Responsibilities include handling Member inquiries and complex operational issues, performing account and file maintenance, reviewing specialized accounts, and supporting departmental operations. The role also provides supervision, training, coaching, and technical guidance to Member Operations associates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform all Member Operations duties as required, including but not limited to:

  • Processing key operational functions, including ACH/check posting, exception handling, reconciliations (G/L, branch, ATM, mobile), and wire transfers.
  • Managing account activity, Member disputes, and Debit, Credit, and ATM card services.
  • Ensuring compliance with NACHA rules, BSA regulations, and all applicable policies and regulatory standards.
  • Monitoring daily reporting and transactions to detect suspicious activity and fraud.
  • Conducting account maintenance and reviews for dormancy, Fiduciaries, and IRAs, including risk analysis, escheatment, and RMD oversight.
  • Process legal requests for restraints, levies, subpoenas, delinquent safe deposit boxes, and negative shares.
  • Provide accurate reporting, maintain records, and generate spreadsheets as needed.
  • Deliver prompt, professional Member service by resolving inquiries, account issues, and transactions.
  • Identify and recommend products/services to meet Members’ financial needs.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, management, and external vendors to resolve issues.
  • Provide guidance, training, and technical support to team members; assist with supervision, management escalation, and problem resolution.
  • Maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and productivity while working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Remain flexible to support departmental needs, including extended hours and Saturdays as required to perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Background check required prior to employment.

 Requirements:

  • College degree with 3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent experience in all aspects of financial institutions.
  • Prior financial services and back-office operational experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of BSA rules and regulations (NACHA, UCC, and Regulations CC, D, E, and Z).
