The Florida Department of Health (DOH) is responsible for the health and safety of all citizens and visitors to the state. As a public health agency, the Florida Department of Health must monitor the health status of Floridians, diagnose, and investigate health problems, and mobilize local communities to address health-related issues. T i tle of Position: Medical Unit Specialist Open Competitive Your Specific Responsibilities: Monitors and performs the purchase of supplies, services, and commodities for the Disease Control (DC) Division. Incumbent is a purchasing card (P-Card) holder and a member of the Coordination – Team (CTeam). As a member of the C-Team, coordinates activities with the Purchasing Department and appropriate L4 staff. Prepares purchase requisitions in the Purchase Requisition System (PRS). Utilizes the My Florida Market Place (MFMP) and Works. Follows the policies and procedures established for a PCard holder. Establishes and maintains accounting systems for reimbursement of expenses, using documentation of receipt and invoices. Compiles monthly inventory and disbursement of purchases. Maintains perpetual inventory of supplies. Complies with the provision of the Prompt Payment Law, Section 2.15.422, F.S and Chapter 3A-24, F.A.C.. Follows DC guidelines for purchasing, writes letters to request approval to spend grant funding, keeps spreadsheets/other reporting tools up-to-date and manages purchasing data. Establishes and maintains a Supply Level Tracking system for all DC L4s including medical, office and janitorial supplies. Assists program managers, supervisors, and DC Business Center team.
