Medical Transportation Schedulers & Dispatchers

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Transportation Scheduler's & Dispatcher's to coordinate, schedule, dispatch and oversee patient transportation services. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and communication skills, with a strong understanding of medical transportation planning, logistics, and customer service. In this role, you will be responsible for scheduling transportation, managing dispatch operations, and ensuring timely, safe, and efficient transport for medical patients. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to vital healthcare support services through effective coordination and communication. Responsibilities Schedule patient transportation using transportation management systems and vehicle dispatch software, ensuring optimal routing and resource allocation. Dispatch drivers promptly while maintaining clear internal communication through multi-line phone systems and radio communication tools. Monitor vehicle cameras, GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, maximize safety, optimize routes, and improve overall road transportation operations. Coordinate with healthcare providers, patients, and drivers to confirm appointments, special needs, and timely pickups. Manage phone call inquiries with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills. Maintain accurate data entry of transportation records, including shipping & receiving documentation and compliance with DOT regulations. Collaborate with logistics teams to streamline supply chain processes related to medical freight and equipment transport. Analyze operational data to identify efficiencies in transportation planning, fleet management, and dispatching procedures. Skills Proficiency in GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS technology, and transportation management systems such as CTS / Trip Master Transportation Management. Strong knowledge of road transportation operations, fleet management, and vehicle dispatching techniques. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes. Familiarity with supply chain logistics, shipping & receiving protocols, and freight management practices. Excellent organizational skills combined with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills for internal coordination via multi-line phone systems and external interactions with clients or healthcare providers. Analysis skills to evaluate route efficiency, driver performance, and operational metrics for continuous improvement. Knowledge of DOH (Office Of EMS) regulations related to regulations, vehicle safety, driver hours of service, and compliance standards.
