Partners In Home CareSummary The Medical Supply Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing, tracking, and maintaining medical supplies, equipment, and inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted patient care and operational efficiency. This role supports clinical and administrative teams by ensuring accurate stock levels, proper storage, timely ordering, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate inventory levels of medical supplies, equipment, and consumables. Receive, inspect, stock, and distribute medical supplies throughout the agency’s supply locations. Monitor inventory usage trends and forecast supply needs. Place and track purchase orders; coordinate with vendors and suppliers. Perform regular inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure accuracy. Manage expiration dates and rotate stock using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) practices. Ensure proper storage, handling, and labeling of all medical supplies. Preparing clinician’s trunk stock and monitoring of usage. Maintain cleanliness and organization of supply storage areas. Track and report damaged, expired, or obsolete items. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, infection control policies, and safety guidelines. Maintain accurate documentation and inventory records in inventory management systems. Collaborate with nursing, clinical, and operations staff to meet supply needs. Support emergency preparedness and disaster supply planning. Assist with cost control and waste reduction initiatives. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Associate degree in logistics, supply chain, healthcare administration, or related field preferred 1–3 years of experience in inventory, supply chain, or healthcare materials management preferred Knowledge of medical supplies, equipment, and healthcare logistics preferred Required Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Basic understanding of healthcare compliance and infection control standards Ability to lift and transport supplies (typically up to 50 lbs) Problem-solving and analytical skills Preferred Certifications (Optional) Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Lean or Six Sigma training
