DayToDay HealthRole Overview The Medical Equipment Technician plays a vital role in supporting patient care by delivering, setting up, and maintaining respiratory and home medical equipment in patients' homes or clinics. They educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, troubleshoot issues, perform routine maintenance, and ensure safety and compliance with regulations such as HIPAA and infection control standards. The technician conducts patient assessments, manages equipment documentation, promotes services, and operates company vehicles safely. Participation in quality improvement initiatives, compliance training, and on-call duties are also essential. Qualifications & Skills High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred experience in customer service, healthcare, or field delivery 1+ year in healthcare technician or related roles; senior roles require 2+ years Valid, unrestricted driver’s license Strong knowledge of medical equipment, safety standards, and documentation Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and customer service skills Key Duties Deliver, set up, and maintain respiratory and home medical equipment Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use and safety Perform equipment troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance Conduct patient assessments and manage documentation for care and billing Ensure compliance with safety, HIPAA, and infection control protocols Operate company vehicle safely and participate in quality and compliance activities
