Medical Courier Driver – VA Contract Routes

Overview We are seeking reliable, professional drivers to provide courier transportation services under a government medical courier contract for Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. Drivers will transport medical supplies, specimens, documents, equipment, and other authorized items between Overton Brooks VA Medical Center and designated VA/non-VA medical facilities. We are currently hiring drivers to cover the following routes: Shreveport → Shreveport – Local Shreveport-area routes Shreveport → Texarkana – (2) Round-trip route between Shreveport and Texarkana Shreveport → Longview – (2) Round-trip route between Shreveport and Longview Driver Responsibilities Safely and professionally operate a company-approved vehicle. Pick up and deliver medical items and other authorized materials according to the assigned route. Maintain accurate pickup and delivery records. Follow all required chain-of-custody procedures. Handle medical materials carefully and professionally. Arrive at scheduled pickup and delivery locations on time. Communicate promptly with dispatch regarding delays, issues, or route changes. Maintain confidentiality of patient and facility information. Keep the vehicle clean and in safe operating condition. Follow all applicable federal, state, contract, and company requirements. Represent the company professionally when interacting with VA personnel, medical facilities, patients, and staff. Qualifications 25+ years old Valid driver's license with a clean or acceptable driving record. Reliable transportation to report to the assigned starting location. Dependable and punctual. Professional appearance and attitude. Ability to pass required background screening. Ability to pass any required drug screening. Ability to follow detailed instructions and contractual procedures. Ability to lift and carry packages/materials as required. Previous courier, medical transportation, delivery, or commercial driving experience is preferred but not required. Government/VA contract experience is a plus. Selected drivers must complete required DOT hazardous materials/dangerous goods, specimen handling, and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens training applicable to the contract. Drivers may also be required to complete VA Privacy/HIPAA, information security, and facility-access training. All required training and credentials must be maintained throughout employment. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who is dependable, punctual, trustworthy, and comfortable working independently . These routes require drivers who understand the importance of being on time and properly handling medical and confidential materials. Because these are government contract routes, reliability and attendance are extremely important. .
