Medical Billing Specialist AND DISPATCHER

Responsibilities Manage medical billing processes by accurately coding diagnoses and procedures using DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards to ensure correct reimbursement. Prepare and submit healthcare claims efficiently using billing software and EMR/EHR systems, verifying all information aligns with insurance requirements and medical records. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collections efforts, maintaining detailed records of correspondence and actions taken. Dispatch transportation or service requests promptly by coordinating with drivers, healthcare providers, and patients to ensure timely arrivals and departures. Maintain clear communication with patients, healthcare providers, insurance companies, and internal teams to resolve billing issues or scheduling conflicts. Keep accurate logs of dispatch activities, shift reports, incident reports, and inbound/outbound communications for compliance and quality assurance purposes. Stay updated on healthcare claims management regulations, health insurance policies, and medical terminology to ensure compliance and accuracy in all tasks. Qualifications Proven experience in medical office settings with a strong understanding of medical billing, coding (DRG, CPT, ICD-9/10), and healthcare claims management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications along with familiarity with billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and other healthcare technology tools. Knowledge of medical records management, health insurance processes, and medical terminology is essential. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally across diverse audiences. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in coding, billing, dispatching logs, and documentation. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
