Media Buyer
Sky AIWho we are: We're the team behind @eatcouver and @foodcouver , Vancouver food accounts with 260k+ combined followers, built over the last decade. We help local restaurants grow by creating content for them and running their Meta ads. The ads side of our business is growing, and we’re looking for someone to run it. You'd manage every campaign and every restaurant relationship that comes with it, from the day a restaurant signs to the day they (hopefully never) leave. If you're great at Meta ads and like being the person restaurant owners trust with their marketing, keep reading. What the work looks like: You’ll manage each restaurant’s ads from start to finish: setting up tracking, building the strategy and campaigns, writing the copy, and launching. Once campaigns are live, you’ll monitor and optimize them and work with our creative strategist on new ads based on what the data shows. You’ll be each restaurant’s main point of contact over WhatsApp, keeping them updated on results and making them feel taken care of. As a small part of the role, you’ll handle the account admin (contracts, billing, renewals), spot upsell opportunities when they’d provide value (like a bigger ad budget), and ask for referrals when restaurants are happy. You’ll also run growth ads for @eatcouver and @foodcouver. You’ll use Meta Ads Manager, WhatsApp, and AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT. On any given day, you might run a tracking setup call with a new restaurant, fix a rejected ad, brief our creative strategist on a new creative variation you’d like to try, or write a monthly report. You're the right fit if: You’re great at Meta ads. You have ideally 2+ years of hands-on experience, preferably with restaurants or other local businesses, or at an agency. You can set up tracking, build campaigns, and read the data to tell whether the problem is the creative, the audience, the offer or the landing page. You turn data into creative direction. You can work closely with our creative strategist, using what the data shows to recommend which hooks, angles and variations to test next. You write ads that work. You know a strong hook from a weak one and can write copy that gets people through the door. You’re great with clients. You write warmly, like a person and not a template, and you can explain results to a busy restaurant owner who doesn’t care about CPMs. You’re proactive. You spot problems before the client does and build an action plan around them. Nothing slips. You can handle 10-20 accounts without missing a report, a billing date or a rejected ad. You’re always improving. You follow our processes but keep testing, learning and updating them when you find something better. You’re open to feedback, love learning, use AI to work smarter, and are eager to contribute to a growing company. You’re based in Metro Vancouver. Before you apply: We’re looking for someone who wants to grow into a full-time role with us long-term, not a side gig between other clients. We hold a high bar and give a lot of direct feedback. If you love improving, you’ll like it here. Restaurant owners are busy. Messages come in at odd times, and you’ll sometimes chase them for access or approvals. Restaurant tracking is rarely perfect. You’ll often judge results by proxies and owner feedback, not just a clean conversion number. We’re a small team building our systems in real time, and you’ll help shape them. Compensation & Growth: To start: $35/hr on contract, about 15 hours/week. Full-time: Once we reach around 20 restaurants, the role becomes full-time at a $65K base salary. Retention bonus (on top, both part-time and full-time): $100 when a restaurant stays past its first month, then $200 for every 4 months they stay after that. At 20 restaurants, that’s about $12K/year extra . Location: Metro Vancouver. Mostly remote. Occasional in-person team events. Growth: When we hire our next ads specialist, you’d be first in line to lead: training them and managing how we run ads across eve…
