LOCATION Greenville, South Carolina, 29615-4614 COMPENSATION $53.00–$60.00 per hour SCHEDULE Monday-Friday Onsite CONTRACT TERM 1 year with high likelihood of extension or conversion to full-time employee. POSITION OVERVIEW – Mechanical Design Engineer IV - Design Liaison Engineer You'll be the design engineer who keeps gas turbine parts built right. You'll work with the suppliers and factories to answer one question: when a part comes in slightly off from the drawing, can it still be used? You'll own the technical side of flow path hardware, the parts that guide air and gas through a turbine, such as blades, vanes, stators, heat shields, and linkage assemblies. Day to day, you'll review parts that don't match the design, decide what happens to them, and revise engineering drawings so those parts are easier to build correctly the next time. You'll also qualify backup suppliers and join lean projects that cut cost, scrap, and rework. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable working with suppliers and factory teams, can move fast without lowering the quality bar, and wants to work on complex turbine components. RESPONSIBILITIES Leverage analytical tools to analyze and deliver solutions for deviant hardware and provide design support to prevent repeat incidents Own hardware redesign efforts by revising drawings to enhance manufacturability Act as technical focal for qualifications of new processes/changes and second source suppliers Conduct technical reviews of design tasks and help assess risks at the component, assembly, and system levels Follow standard work and design templates for common issues and contribute to the improvement of design and manufacturing processes or methods Ensure adherence to technical standards in design activities, maintaining quality and accuracy Apply basic knowledge of gas turbine design to support improvements in part functionality and cost reduction Foster a positive work environment, supporting a culture of quality and urgency in collaboration with the supply chain team REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or college, or relevant experience equal to that degree Understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, methods, materials, and coatings Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional global organization Ability to rapidly shift day-to-day priorities based on emerging business needs Strong organizational and communication skills Humble, open-minded, self-motivated, and a continuous learner Experience with manufacturing processes such as precision forging, investment casting, machining (milling, drilling, turning, EDM), coating, shot peening, inspection, fixturing, etc. (preferred) Familiarity with Ansys, NX, and other analytical tools (preferred) Previous non-conformance dispositioning experience of deviating hardware by applying mechanical engineering assessments (preferred) Relevant experience designing gas turbine hardware or similar rotating machinery, specifically flow path components (preferred) MUST HAVE Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent relevant experience) Understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, methods, materials, and coatings Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional global organization and rapidly shi
