Hands-On Fleet Maintenance ManagerJob Summary Endurance Logistics is seeking an upbeat, outgoing, and highly motivated Hands-On Fleet Maintenance Manager to help keep our delivery fleet safe, reliable, and ready for the road each day. This is not strictly a desk-based fleet or dispatch position. The right candidate must have real hands-on vehicle repair experience and be comfortable inspecting vans, diagnosing common problems, completing minor and moderate repairs onsite, and coordinating outside repairs when work exceeds our capabilities. Our goal is to maximize the number of route-ready vehicles available each day. This requires someone who takes ownership, responds quickly, communicates clearly, and is willing to go above and beyond to solve problems. The successful candidate must also be comfortable using computers, mobile applications, fleet-management portals, and communication platforms. You will communicate daily with drivers, operations managers, repair vendors, our customer, and members of the community. Key Responsibilities Review driver vehicle inspection reports and reported mechanical concerns each day. Inspect vehicles, diagnose problems, and determine whether repairs can be completed onsite or must be assigned to an outside vendor. Perform hands-on repairs and minor vehicle maintenance to return vans to service safely and quickly. Partner directly with operations managers to ensure sufficient route-ready vehicles are available to meet daily capacity requirements. Prioritize repairs based on safety, operational needs, vehicle availability, and route schedules. Coordinate repairs with dealerships, body shops, tire shops, glass companies, towing providers, and other service vendors. Create, monitor, and update repair requests through multiple fleet-management and vendor portals. Maintain regular contact with repair vendors to prevent vehicles from sitting unnecessarily and to confirm expected completion dates. Keep drivers informed about the status and resolution of vehicle concerns they report. Maintain accurate records of vehicle condition, repair status, maintenance history, insurance information, and out-of-service vehicles. Monitor open repair items and follow each issue through completion rather than simply passing it to another person. Assist with vehicle assignments and fleet-related dispatch needs as required. Communicate professionally with drivers, vendors, Amazon representatives, customers, and community members. Help maintain an organized work area, parts inventory, tools, and commonly needed replacement items. Ensure vehicles meet Endurance Logistics, Amazon, and applicable safety and maintenance standards. Typical Onsite Repairs Hands-on work may include: Bulb and fuse replacement Battery replacement Wiper blade and wiper component replacement Mirror replacement Headlight and taillight assembly replacement Mounted wheel changes for flat tires Relay and module replacement Minor body-panel and trim replacement Decal removal and replacement Minor electrical troubleshooting Basic preventive maintenance Other repairs that can be completed safely with available tools and equipment More advanced repairs will be assigned to qualified outside vendors, but this position remains responsible for coordinating the work, monitoring progress, and ensuring the vehicle is returned to service promptly. What We Are Looking For Hands-on automotive or commercial-vehicle repair experience. Ability to diagnose common vehicle problems and complete basic-to-moderate repairs independently.
