Mechanic and CDL Driver
Structural Integrity Group, LLCJob Summary We are seeking a reliable and skilled Equipment Mechanic and Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of heavy and light equipment used in construction and fleet operations coupled with developing and implementing a fleet maintenance program. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and transporting equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies and maintaining a clean, organized shop and yard. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent driving skills, and the ability to work independently. Responsibilities Inspect and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on equipment Perform routine maintenance. Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs. Ensure equipment is in safe working condition and meets company and OSHA standards. Collaborate with operations personnel to schedule repairs. Respond to emergency breakdowns, including occasional fieldwork Keep work area clean and organized. Operate and drive heavy trucks to transport equipment to various locations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, fuel, vehicle maintenance, and cargo information. Communicate effectively with team members regarding delivery status and any issues encountered on the road. Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean driving record. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a three-year clean driving history. Proven experience as an equipment mechanic and truck driver. Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation systems. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently. Must pass background checks and drug screenings as required by company policy. Physical stamina to lift heavy loads and perform manual tasks as needed. Must provide basic tools. Company vehicles will be provided for use during working hours. Ability and willingness to periodically work out of town with the crews.
