Materials Specialist II

POSITION PURPOSE The Materials Specialist II position is responsible for managing inventory levels, overseeing the procurement and distribution of materials, stocking inventories in storerooms and assigned locations, ensuring accurate record-keeping, vendor negotiations, quality control checks, implementing new material management strategies and analyzing usage patterns to optimize stock levels and cost efficiency. MINIMUM MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two (2) years experience working as a Materials Specialist II or in a related field. EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. MANDATORY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite programs are required. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Adherence to Holy Cross Medical Center policies surrounding patient safety, infection control, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of three (3) years experience working as a Materials Specialist II or in a related field. Associate’s Degree in Materials Science and Engineering or related field.
