Materials Procurement & Delivery Specialist

Job Summary Based out of Baton Rouge, the Construction Materials & Field Support Technician is a reliable, fit, early-rising, construction-minded jack-of-all-trades who handles material procurement, transport, and on-site delivery across the New Orleans to Lake Charles corridor, and also delivers marketing flyers. This role requires use of a personal SUV in excellent condition (mileage reimbursed at 67 cents per mile), strong driving skills including box trucks, basic mechanical/vehicle maintenance knowledge, and the physical ability to access attics, crawl spaces, tight areas, and walk routes to drop flyers. Some hands-on construction or mechanical experience is preferred so the person can effectively support field teams—without needing to be a licensed tradesperson. Must be at work by 7 AM and stay in good physical shape for the mix of driving, lifting, crawling, and flyer delivery. Key Responsibilities Purchase construction materials and supplies from home centers, specialty suppliers, and vendors across the New Orleans to Lake Charles area based on job needs. Use personal SUV (in excellent condition) to transport and deliver materials between New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Lake Charles, as well as directly to job sites; mileage paid at 67 cents per mile. Drive a box truck confidently for larger or bulk deliveries when needed. Deliver materials into job-site locations that require crawling into attics, under houses, or other tight/confined spaces. Deliver marketing flyers on foot in targeted neighborhoods and areas as part of the role’s marketing support. Lend a practical helping hand on site when needed (moving materials into position, light support, or basic assistance) while keeping the primary focus on materials, logistics, and field support. Verify material orders for accuracy, condition, and completeness before leaving suppliers. Perform basic vehicle checks and maintenance on personal SUV and company vehicles (checking oil, fluids, tires, and overall readiness). Communicate clearly with the office, project leads, and field teams on material status, delays, or substitutions. Keep organized records of purchases, receipts, deliveries, mileage, and flyer distribution. Show good judgment and a practical problem-solving approach with suppliers, traffic, schedules, site access, and flyer routes. Represent the company professionally at suppliers, on job sites, and while distributing flyers. Arrive ready to work by 7 AM as an early riser to support morning operations. Requirements Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Reliable personal SUV in excellent condition for work use (mileage reimbursed at 67 cents per mile). Ability and willingness to drive a box truck. Physically fit and in good shape—comfortable crawling into attics, under houses, and tight spaces, lifting materials, and walking routes to deliver flyers. Early riser able to be at work by 7 AM every day. Basic familiarity with construction materials and ability to locate/purchase the correct items at home centers and supply stores (full installation skills not required). Practical knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance (oil, fluids, tires, general readiness). Strong reliability, punctuality, and independent jack-of-all-trades mindset with a construction or mechanical orientation. Good communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to lift, load, move materials, and cover walking routes for flyer delivery as needed. Comfortable with regular travel between New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Lake Charles.
