The Materials Manager will oversee the work of the Material’s Buyer, Inventory Analyst, Production Scheduler and Shipping/Receiving Supervisor. What does a Materials Supervisor do? Responsible for ensuring timely, accurate shipment and receipt of customer or supplier product. Oversee the logistics activities related to moving material, equipment and tools to and from Angstrom and its offsite locations. i.e. transportation scheduling, shipping and receiving, managing delivery windows and dock usage, freight charges, expedited shipments, etc... Oversee all inbound releases, analyzing available space, addressing space issues, and coordinating releases accordingly. Ensure ASNs and other OEM data is transmitted accurately and in a timely fashion. Ensures OEM systems are reviewed and updated per requirements Analyses and follows up on issues reported on supplier delivery ratings i.e. Ford, Toyota and Stellantis. Responsible for inventory management. Ensures the department employs good housekeeping practices in the plant, warehouse, outside storage units and offsite warehouses. Manage a 10,000sq/ft off-site warehouse including the assessment and management of service part requirements, and coordination of shipments, tools, space/organization, and inventory accuracy. Works with Inventory Analyst to identify and reconcile inventory inaccuracies with the objective of eliminating year end inventory counts Ensures inventory accuracy and inventory turns targets are met. Ensures FIFO principles are followed. Conducts annual physical inventories. Responsible for production and materials planning activities for regular and service part production, as well as subcontracted production requirements. Ensures the Planner develops production and material schedules to meet customer requirements while minimizing inventory investment and maximizing our production efficiencies. Responsible for planning and scheduling activities for subcontracted production. Implement a strategic plan/system to ensure a steady supply of returnable dunnage and portal tracking of dunnage. Responsible for Customer Service with Suppliers and Customers Monitor all customer portals daily to ensure all requirements are met, and take action to address and resolve issues or requirement shortfalls. This includes managing all aspects related to USMCA Certificates etc. Will work and interface with Customers to generate quotes for service parts and coordinate with cross functional teams to see through the completion/shipment of service parts produced. Responsible for setting up and adjusting Customer Packaging, will work with Engineering as well as the customer. Responsible for new product launches Ensures all aspects relating to part number availability, required materials, BOMs, routing, obsolescence, etc… are completed as required. Employs, develops, and maintains system applications with the support of Information Technology Services. Inventory, Customer Order Entry, Production Scheduling and Job Order applications. EDI/ASN Backup: Shipping, Barcode labels, and shipment verification programs.
