of Materials Manager:
You will provide leadership for inventory control functions by managing strategies, improving systems, supporting teams, and ensuring inventory processes align with customer requirements and operational goals.
• Guide inventory control strategies to support service agreements and operational targets.
• Create and maintain processes that improve inventory accuracy, reporting, accountability, and asset management.
• Identify inventory risks and develop proactive solutions to prevent and resolve operational challenges.
• Improve inventory planning approaches through data analysis and process enhancements.
• Monitor inventory control KPIs and ensure performance meets business requirements.
• Review inventory accuracy, shrink performance, and service levels while providing required reporting.
• Improve inventory systems and technology usage to maintain effective controls.
• Prepare documentation required for customer, financial, and regulatory audits.
• Build productive relationships with customers and operational partners to support improvement initiatives.
• Manage associates through coaching, performance reviews, development plans, and succession planning.
• Communicate and enforce company policies while maintaining a safe, organized, and fair workplace.
• Support employee engagement, retention, and overall team performance.
Required Skills and Experience of Materials Manager:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 4 years of inventory control experience required.
• 3+ years of logistics experience required.
• 3+ years of management experience required, preferably within a large-scale operation or unit pick environment.
• 1+ years of client relationship management, staff management, and objective-setting experience required.
• Experience with employee management, performance goals, and cross-functional reporting required.
• Experience creating metrics and reporting processes required.
• Knowledge of inventory management systems including JDA, Manhattan Warehouse Management System, DMPLUS, SAP, or similar platforms required.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt communication styles for different audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience managing inventory control activities in large logistics or distribution operations.
• Experience supporting customer relationships and continuous improvement efforts.
Compensation and Benefits of Materials Manager:
• National salary range: $70,000 - $115,000.
