Be part of something great! General Statement of Duties : The Materials Management Manager is responsible for all aspects of procurement of material goods and services. This position plans, implements, and monitors contracts including terms and conditions in conjunction with Group Purchasing Organization (GPO's) contracts. The Manager develops and implements policies and procedures necessary for the accurate and effective use of purchasing applications and communicates with vendors to expedite open purchase orders, discusses lead time problems, back orders and product availability. The Manager assists with coverage for the Materials Management Department for all locations. Essential Duties: Responsible for the procurement, receiving, and distribution of materials goods and services and for maintaining appropriate controls over issuing purchase orders, receiving and distribution. Assists Physicians and Senior Leadership with research of new products and equipment. Conducts cost-benefit analyses to substantiate decisions in product and service selection. Works to ensure financial performance objectives are met with prompt invoice reconciliation and follow-up. Assists Director with contract negotiations for equipment, supplies and services. Plans and monitors vendor contracts in conjunction with GPO to ensure best pricing. Develops and implements policies and procedures necessary for the accurate and effective use of purchasing applications. Assists with coverage of all areas of the Materials Management Department including coverage at various locations. Provides orientation and training for staff. Coordinates coverage and schedules for the Purchasing team. Responsible for the Vendor Credentialing System used at all hospitals. Communicates with vendors to expedite open purchase orders, lead times, back orders and availability. Keeps Director of Materials Management abreast of manufacturer back orders or shortages. Assists with Materials Management Department regulatory compliance for HFAP, accreditation, and annual surveys. Researches and obtains pricing for the New Technology Committee. Provides price comparisons against current product as well as national database. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in related field required 6-8 years of related experience required, 8-10 years of experience preferred BLS CPR certification required OrthoIndy is an Equal Opportunity Employer
