Materials Management and Logistics Specialist

Job Title: Materials Management and Logistics Specialist Location: Tyler, TX ( 75703 ) Hybrid: 4 Day Onsite Duration: 12 Months Contract Pay Range: $20-$25/hr Job Description: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate the procurement of materials to meet production and project needs. Manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials in accordance with company policies. Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, shipments, and material usage. Analyze logistics data to identify areas for cost savings and process improvements. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in all logistics activities. Skill & Qualifications Requirements & Skill Strong organizational and time management skill with attention to detail. Proficiency in inventory management systems and Excel. Knowledge of supply chain, logistics, and procurement principles. Effective communication skill for coordinating with vendors and internal teams. Ability to analyze data and generate reports to support decision-making. Familiarity with shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations. Able to use mainframe computer system (SAP) and personal computer software to perform warehouse activities. Able to pass required tests to acquire forklift certification. Education & Experience Education: Requires a high school education or the equivalent knowledge of English, grammar, and basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculation of fractions and/or percentages). Experience: 0-2 years of experience. Physical Requirements Able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, reach, lift arms, carry items, and climb stairs or ladders. Able to view terminal for extended periods of time, use keyboard, and sit for long periods of time to use personal computer. Able to use the proper tools for any given job. Able to be included in random drug screen pool required for DOT drivers and DOT safety sensitive positions. Able to don personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, hardhat, gloves, protective footwear, and earplugs on a daily basis. Able to operate a motor vehicle and heavy equipment and the ability to enter and exit vehicle unassisted.
