Our manufacturing operation combines construction expertise, modern building methods, technology, and a fast-paced production environment. We are looking for a Materials & Inventory Control Manager to bring structure, accountability, and accuracy to the way materials are organized and tracked throughout our manufacturing facility. About the Opportunity This is a hands-on materials and inventory control position supporting a manufacturing operation . This is not a traditional shipping, logistics, or distribution management role. The primary focus is knowing what materials are on site, how much is available, where materials are located, how much is being used by production, and whether materials are being properly handled and accounted for. The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing background, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to create structure and accountability in an environment that relies heavily on Excel, Smartsheet, physical counts, and manual inventory tracking . Key Responsibilities Oversee the organization and control of materials throughout the manufacturing facility Track materials, quantities, locations, usage, and inventory levels Maintain accurate inventory records using Excel, Smartsheet, physical counts, and manual tracking systems Conduct routine physical inventory and cycle counts and investigate discrepancies Track materials issued to production and maintain accountability for usage Identify, document, and properly handle damaged, missing, excess, and unused materials Ensure materials are properly labeled, stored, protected, and easy to locate Work closely with Production and Purchasing to identify material needs, shortages, and usage trends Establish and enforce processes that improve inventory accuracy and material accountability Identify opportunities to reduce material damage, loss, waste, and inventory discrepancies Lead and hold inventory and warehouse personnel accountable for accuracy, organization, and performance Communicate inventory concerns and material shortages to Operations leadership Work directly with the production team to ensure materials are available and properly controlled throughout the manufacturing process What We're Looking For 5+ years of warehouse, materials, inventory, or inventory-control experience in a manufacturing environment Previous experience supporting a manufacturing or production floor Previous experience leading or supervising employees Strong understanding of inventory control, material tracking, and accountability Strong Excel skills; Smartsheet experience preferred Comfortable working with spreadsheets, data, physical inventory, and manual tracking systems Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Highly organized with a strong ownership and accountability mindset Ability to work effectively with Production, Purchasing, and Operations leadership Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered Physical & Work Environment This is a hands-on manufacturing-floor position requiring frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and movement throughout the facility. Candidates must be able to regularly lift up to 30 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs. The role involves working around moving equipment, moderate noise, and varying temperatures.
